Manual-J, D and software class
This is a series of 3 classes that can be taken as a series or individually. Each class provides the student with the subject material in a manner that is easy to understand and apply.
Understanding Manual J, Heat Loss and Heat Gain
This program is designed for the professional who will be using a computer based program to calculate the heat loss and/or heat gain for residential buildings. This program gives the user all of the information necessary to intelligently use a computer based system.
Understanding Manual J takes the nationally-recognized residential load calculation standard and breaks it down in a way that's easy to understand and apply. Topics covered include:
- Guidelines and Limitations
- How Heat Moves and What To Measure
- Design Conditions and Fenestration
- Opaque Surfaces and Duct Systems
Understanding Manual D - Air Flow and Duct Design
This class includes new things like proper installation of flexible duct with emphasis on negative effects of excess sag and compression and duct system efficiency with regard to duct shape and material.
Presented in plain language and split into five parts. Understanding Manual D takes the nationally-recognized duct design standard and breaks it down in a way that’s easy to understand and apply. Topics covered include:
- Airflow Basics
- Choosing a Blower
- Creating Comfort Using Manual T
- System Design
- Testing and Balancing
Manual-J Software
This class will instruct the student with a hands-on introduction to manual-J software. The class will perform an actual Manual-J using Elite software (working demo version, provided at beginning of class). The student will need to bring a laptop.
Class Information
Each class is a 1 day training program.
Class Fee:
- Each individual class: $195.00
- Register and pay for 2 classes, get the 3rd class at no charge
Course Material Included:
- Course Manual on DVD or printed material (will receive on first day of class)
- Elite software working demo version (only for the software class)
- Refreshments
Items required for Class:
- Laptop, for course material and software (software only for the software class)
- Your favorite writing instrument, along with your favorite notepad/notebook/instrument to take notes
Maximum number of students for the training class is 12 (at our site).
Each class Starts at 8am each day.
Classes are held at our office in Ashburn, VA unless otherwise stated.
